Apartment in Lisbon

This is one of the only groundfloor houses still in existence in Lisbon’s historic Bairro Alto.The house was built by Marques de Pombal one of the greatest architectural geniuses of his time .The buildings were redesigned in 1936 to create inhabitable houses, one of which is this house, and it receives the most light and has the most beautiful view of all, over Santos-o-Velho and the Basílica da Estrela (EN), one of Lisbons most beautiful monuments.

Bairro Alto

Bairro Alto (literally upper quarter in Portuguese) is an area of central Lisbon, Portugal. It functions as a residential, shopping and entertainment district. Today, the Bairro Alto is the heart of Lisbon’s youth and of the Portuguese capital’s nightlife. Lisbon’s Punk, Gay, Metal, Goth, Hip Hop and Reggae scenes, all have the Bairro as their home, due to the number of clubs and bars dedicated to each of them. The fado, Portugal’s national song, still survives in the new Lisbon’s nightlife. The crowd is a mix of local and tourist, straight and gay, and almost anything else imagined.”

The apartment is a 30m2 house and has been entirely renovated and remodelled to include:

- a complete kitchenet with a washing machine
- a sleeping room with a double bed
- a sitting room with a sofa bed, Dvd player with TV and /.1 surround system sound.

In winter time the apartment is heated with electric heater.

We will welcome you with a bottle of cold “vinho verde” and a basket of fruit. You will also find in the apartment various CDs with typical Portuguese music to complete your cultural experience in Lisbon.

The reservation of the apartment can only be finalized with 30% NET (bank Transfer) or paypal not refundable that is deducted from the total payment. After this in a maximum of 3 days the information will be posted in this blog and in Availability Calendar

If you choose to pay using paypal.com, later on (please note that you will have an extra charge of 17 euros).

The Cleaning up fee is 35€ for any period of days. Towels and bed-linen are provided. Electricity, gas and water are included.

Full- payment upon arrival in cash .
Please note that the maximum withdrawal in a Portuguese ATM machine is 200 € and the maximum daily withdrawal is 400 €.

Check-in and check-out:
Check-in is after 4 PM (You can always come after 11 to leave you luggage and get the keys, but if we have someone else leaving on the same day the apartment won’t be ready before 4 PM).
Check-out is until 11 AM (You can always leave your luggage ready at the apartment at 11 and keep one set of keys till 4 PM, if we have someone else arriving on the same day).

Please call us 30 minutes before your arrival.

Please note that check-in between 9h30 PM and 8 AM will be charged with extra 20euros.

Please note that you shall take a copy of your id card or passport when you check in the apartment. Otherwise you will be asken to come to our office before receiving the keys.

The rent is for periods of 3 or more days.

For the apartment we choose biodegradable eco-friendly cleaning products wherever possible. All lamps in the apartment use energy saving bulbs. Separate waste bins and instructions for reducing and recycling rubbish are provided.
